Tricentenary of the death of John Ray 2005 marks the three hundredth anniversary of the death of John Ray, and the Village will be celebrating his life and works. On the weekend of the 14th - 15th, a sculpture depicting the ideas and themes of Ray's life will be unveiled. Click on the tab to learn more. At the same time, the Parish will be publishing a book about the life of our foremost forefather. This is not an academic work, there are plenty of them already. This book looks at the life and times of John Ray; not what he did, but why. Co-written by Ann Wood and Janet Turner. |
